She is from England, born in 1943, her real name is Priscilla White and this song was a hit in 1967 according to the information on the LP. Wow, at first I thought it was Donny Osmond singing because his song "Let my people go" does have a resemblance to her but a little higher than her.

[My teenage buddies, Quintin Paredes and Rogelio Sumiguin who were close friends themselves, taught me how to play a guitar with this song. Both Paredes and Sumiguin were under my father's command. If anyone can read this and know these people, I would like to be reconnected to them. Paredes is from Surigao (I forgot which part of Surigao and Sumiguin is from Samar.]

Softly as in a Morning Sunrise

Softly as in a morning sunrise
by Sigmund Romberg/Oscar Hammerstein II

Love came to me, gay and tender
Love came to me sweet surrender

Love came to me,
in bright romantic splendour

Fickle was she, faithful never
Fickle was she and clever
Who will it be forever, forever.

Chorus:

Softly , as in a morning sunrise
The light of love comes stealing
Into a new born day

Oh flaming, with all the glow of sunrise
A burning kiss is sealing
The vow that all betray

For the passion that thrill love
And lift you high to heaven
Are the passions that kill love
And let you cruelly fall
So ends its story

Softly as in an evening sunset
The light that gives you glory
Will take it all away.
