Remembering Father Malachi Toner of Ireland

I purposely chose this very old version in memory of Father Malachi Toner, our School Director at St. Mary's High School in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. This is Father Toner's favourite song we sang for him and he sang along with us. The best School Director we ever had have.

My Elementary Memory

I was Grade VI and this was my classmate's favourite song she sang on our Graduation Night in Karomatan Central Elementary School, Karomatan, Lanao del Norte.

Don't Tell My Heart to Stop Loving You

My best memory in Mindanao State University

Long Ago and Far Away

Just for sentimental reason.

The Sound of Music - Instrumental

It took me over 20 years before I finally watched the film in Manila before coming to Australia. When I bought a video, my girls literally watched this over and over and over a million times. My eldest was about 4 years old and my youngest was 3 years old. It is still our favourite.

Somewhere

1967 - St Mary's High School Memory in Marawi City. My cousin Fe Bamba always sang this song.

We are the World

This world is for everyone where we all belong regardless of the colour of our skin, the language we speak, the faith we behold; where blessings are to be enjoyed whether we are rich or poor. We are the World is a song for Peace, brotherhood and love. A song of compassion for one another.

To you, whoever you are, wherever you live, this I wholeheartedly dedicate.

Hi - Lili - Hi - Lo

I was listening music in my bedroom early in the night after dinner and the local DJ played this song. So I thought, hmmmm ...that's another of my late mother's lullaby to us. Wonderful memory!

Two Less Lonely People

The Air Supply - memory from Manila. A dedication to Richie of Melbourne.

Islands in the Stream

The first time we had computer at home, my children introduced me to Yahoo Messenger. I joined a group of over 50's that played music. It was there that I first heard this song. Though I love music, am not much into knowing everything about song titles. I particularly loved this song, so I asked its title. This is one among my favourites now.

You Mean Everything to Me

Story so far:

I was in Grade 4 when this very popular song of Neil Sedaka dominated the local airwaves.

Then, I studied in Karomatan Central Elementary School, Karomatan, Lanao del Norte, bordered by sea to Zamboanga del Sur.

As we always held program prior to proper class study, it was my turned to sing in the class, and I sang this song.

Memory, beautiful memory!

I can still clearly remember all my classmates sitting on their chairs listening while I sang.

Our teacher was Mrs. Carolina Haloot. When she took her maternity leave, Miss Melchora Respuesto took over the class.

No Man is an Island

Note: Another MSU memory ...

Dear Heart

Note: This was sang by a very popular group in Mindanao State University in 1969.
