Mother of Mine by Florence Aguilar
Mother of mine
You gave to me all of my life
To do as I please
I owe everything I have to you
Mother, sweet mother of mine
Mother of mine
When I was young
You showed me
The right way things
Should be done
Without your love,
Where would I be?
Mother, sweet mother of mine
Mother, you gave me
Happiness much more
Than words can say
I pray the Lord that
He may bless you
Every night and every day
Mother of mine
Now I am grown
And I can walk straight
All on my own
I'd like to give you
What you gave to me
Mother, sweet mother of mine
Mother, sweet mother of mine.

Can't Help Falling In Love
Sent in by Pula6869
Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
For I can't help falling in love with you

After The Storm by Debby Turner
With great thanks Debby.
After the Storm
Your heart can't be broken,
It only feels that way,
You're afraid and lonely,
Don't worry I will stay.
You say it feels awful
to watch your world collapse.
You need to see tomorrow.
Believe this storm will pass.
This wind in your eyes
will end tonite
With mystical mornings,
Crystal clear mornings After the Storm.
The darkest clouds are breaking,
make way for other times.
No heart aching,
watch summer storms subside.
Lift your hands to the heavens
and rest assured.
Tears of the spirit and
the patient prayer is heard.
This wind in your eyes
will end tonite
With mystical mornings,
Crystal clear mornings After the Storm.
Even when things go wrong,
Life is good and worth living.
Live on and on
You daughters and sons.
It's such a good ride just stayin' alive!
from Debby "Getting it Right" CD

Tie a Yellow Ribbon by Tony Orlando and Dawn
I saw Tony Orlando and Dawn in person during the ISP Gala Night, August 20, 2005 held in Hilton Hotel, Washington DC. They sang this song and we sang along with them. It was so exhilarating experience to see them performed live on stage and Tony coming down from the stage to join us on the floor. What a show of a lifetime!

the world is full of it, and you simply take as much as you require." ~Edward Elgar

A Lover's Concerto
"Musical compositions, it should be remembered, do not inhabit certain countries, certain museums, like paintings and statues. The Mozart Quintet is not shut up in Salzburg: I have it in my pocket."~Henri Rabaud

Don't Forget I Still Love You
DON`T FORGET I STILL LOVE YOU
Bobbi Martin
Don`t forget I still love you
Everyday we`re apart
Someone else will be kissing you
But you`ll still be in my heart
Don`t forget I still love you
When her arms hold you tight
Just remember that I still care
Though I'm not with you tonight.
When I told you I loved you
I promised I`d be true
And I`ll keep that promise
My whole life through
I could never forget you
And how our love used to be
Goodbye my darling and don`t forget
That you can always come back to me.
-
When I told you I loved you
I promised I`d be true
And I`ll keep that promise
My whole life through
I could never forget you
And how our love used to be
Goodbye my darling and don`t forget
You can always come back to me.
My Story Behind the Song
This is my secret story that links to this song. I don't mind. It is just something to remember by.
When I was 17 years old, I had a crush on one of my father's subjects. I described him as dark and handsome for he was not really that tall.
His name was Leonardo. I am his female version in real life.
Leo must probably about three to five years older than me. I wasn't sure if he felt my infatuation, but we became good and close friends when at 18 I was forced to quit school due to financial difficulty and became a stay home aide for the family. (At that time, I did not know that I was one of a Scholarship Recipients from a state university but my high school principal did not endorsed the papers to me. No need to hate her, she's gone now).
Being the eldest and obedient daughter I was, I did my duty to my family:housekeeping, cooking, doing laundry to ironing, helping my mother in the garden, pasturing goats, raising hogs for supplementary income, running errands and more. See, I was a very good girl.
When Leo finished his duty (he was doing On the Job Training in the military under my father's command -NCO), I really couldn't figure out why he always came around to our house to hang out.
He was a very confident man, friendly, humorous and he had winning ways but polite and respectful.
Oftentimes, he caught me in the kitchen cooking. And he would come in and helped me prepare the vegetables. But when mealtime came, he would go away and not one bit would stay to eat with us. Never, ever! Sometimes, I felt disappointed, at the same time pleased.
Then from helping me in the kitchen, he adventurously embarked to helping me with my washing chores. In those days, we didn't have our own home water supply. So we had to go to a certain place where we did our laundry using a facility exclusive to military personnel and families.
I didn't know how it all started. But Leo would come around to bring me a little bag of candy. Much much later, he would sit down to keep me company and talked to me and eventually would help with the washing. Beat that?
It went on for a while. One Christmas day, I was very sad because the company had to send him on patrol. I silently missed him. When I was in the city, I bought him a present: handkerchief. That's all I could afford to give him. Three Red handkerchiefs.
I was stranded in the city, naturally, I also missed Christmas with my family. When I finally came home, my younger siblings ran to me and screamed loud to tell me "You got a present from Django". Yes, he was awarded that name because of his family name only with a different spelling.
I could not claim he was my boyfriend because he did not say anything to me. Though I could tell he was truly caring for me. It was put to a halt when his traineeship was over and I went to the university.
Years went on and we moved to another city, and he happened to have a relative living nearby; he did come to pay my parents a visit. He asked for me but I only learned it too late. None of my family told me or wrote to me to tell of his visit.
This song was on that year 1968 ... and this makes a very SPECIAL part of my memory.
Last but not the least, I am grateful to 65Reasons for providing me the lyrics and sending me the YOU TUBE link via isacanota (meaning One Note). My heartfelt appreciation to you both.

Remembering Father Malachi Toner of Ireland
I purposely chose this very old version in memory of Father Malachi Toner, our School Director at St. Mary's High School in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. This is Father Toner's favourite song we sang for him and he sang along with us. The best School Director we ever had have.
My Elementary Memory
I was Grade VI and this was my classmate's favourite song she sang on our Graduation Night in Karomatan Central Elementary School, Karomatan, Lanao del Norte.

The Sound of Music - Instrumental
It took me over 20 years before I finally watched the film in Manila before coming to Australia. When I bought a video, my girls literally watched this over and over and over a million times. My eldest was about 4 years old and my youngest was 3 years old. It is still our favourite.
Somewhere
1967 - St Mary's High School Memory in Marawi City. My cousin Fe Bamba always sang this song.

We are the World
This world is for everyone where we all belong regardless of the colour of our skin, the language we speak, the faith we behold; where blessings are to be enjoyed whether we are rich or poor. We are the World is a song for Peace, brotherhood and love. A song of compassion for one another.
To you, whoever you are, wherever you live, this I wholeheartedly dedicate.
Hi - Lili - Hi - Lo
I was listening music in my bedroom early in the night after dinner and the local DJ played this song. So I thought, hmmmm ...that's another of my late mother's lullaby to us. Wonderful memory!

You Mean Everything to Me
Story so far:
I was in Grade 4 when this very popular song of Neil Sedaka dominated the local airwaves.
Then, I studied in Karomatan Central Elementary School, Karomatan, Lanao del Norte, bordered by sea to Zamboanga del Sur.
As we always held program prior to proper class study, it was my turned to sing in the class, and I sang this song.
Memory, beautiful memory!
I can still clearly remember all my classmates sitting on their chairs listening while I sang.
Our teacher was Mrs. Carolina Haloot. When she took her maternity leave, Miss Melchora Respuesto took over the class.
